WeirdFest is a film making competition
based in the Okanagan region in the province of British Columbia,
Canada. Our goal is to uncover the most weirdly entertaining films in
the Thompson/Okanagan and the world.
The focus of this contest is to locate and promote strangely unique filmmakers that may otherwise be ignored by the mainstream. Although things like professional camera techniques and lighting are vitally important in film making, the focus of this competition is the story. Unlike some film competitions, minor technical flaws will take a back seat to a bizarrely entertaining creative vision.

Rules & Terms
- Your film MUST BE WEIRD, quirky, strange, peculiar and
otherwise odd!
- Your film must also be entertaining,
weirdly entertaining.
- Films competing for the main awards must
have been completed (or significantly revised) within the last year.
Older films can still be submitted and may receive honorable mentions.
- Films not in English must have English subtitles.
By submitting you also agree and
acknowledge the following legal terms:
- You own all rights necessary to be submitting your film, including music rights.
- You give WeirdFest the right to screen the project at the next edition of the competition.
- You give WeirdFest the right to use any stills, excerpts, titles and any other info related to the films for promotional purposes.
- You have read and understood all the rules and comply.
